With a promising weekend for some wintery weather, Braes ‘o Fife headed to Milehouse (Kincraig) for our November 2019 meet, with plenty of activities in mind for the weekend.
On Saturday, Alex and Colin faced the Northern Corries, giving Alex his first taste for winter climbing – Goat Track Gulley in good condition. He’s been promised the weather is not always this good!
Cat, Alison, Hannah, Stephen and (definitely not) Callum took to the plateau via .1141 and enjoyed magnificent views from Cairn Gorm summit. A few opportunities to get the ice axes out again!
Sorley, Adam & Joady met up with John and headed up Burma road in perfect blue-sky conditions, despite the bitter cold. We descended towards High Burnside and cycled over towards the trails. We did Lefticle, Lower Lefticle, THR, Christ Almighty, Ed’s Trail & Fenceline to finish the 48km day.
There was some fantastic evening entertainment too, with Sorley and Adam (and Hannah!) strumming away on the guitar. Cards Against Humanity made an appearance too, and ‘rubbing Boris Johnson’s tummy until he falls asleep’ really tickled someone!
Sunday was a day of departing but still cramming in as much as could be done on the way home. Alison, Cat and Alex mountain biked the Lairig Ghru, and Sorley and Joady went to Laggan Wolftrax, to session the black then we rode the black in one and lastly took the lower red on to the orange.
All in all, it was a great weekend with great entertainment held throughout the evenings. Hosted by a lovely wee bothy!
