2025 Dinner Meet

20th September 2025 by Braes o' Fife

Everyone made their way to Mill Cottage in Feshiebridge for our dinner meet again this year. Some decided to add to the fun right out of the gate, with Adam cycling up to the hut, and overcoming the strong winds at the Drumochter pass.

With most members landing on Friday, the evening was spent catching up, playing games, and sharing stories. Trying not to get too many stories out of Keith, mind you, as he was our honorary speaker for the weekend!! There was also a small party taking in what is fast becoming a new favourite activity for the Braes o’ Fife, soaking in a sauna!

On Saturday, members set off in various directions. Some hiking, some biking, some biking and hiking. Adam and Joady ventured onto the Monadhliath, making the tops of Càrn Dearg, Càrn Sgulain and A’ Chailleach. Cat, Alison, Evil K-Neil-vel, and Heather went for a hike-a-bike to Leathad an Taobhain; most of which was managed on two wheels, and hitting some speed coming down again! Alex, Lucas and Jura went for a trail run around Inshriach Forest and Uath Lochain, totting up 16km.

On Saturday evening, everyone met (on time!) at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre for venison stew or curry, before filling up to the brim with delicious desserts.

As the night settled in, it was time for our main event in the Ptarmigan Dome. We were delighted to welcome back long-standing Braes o’ Fife member, Keith Partridge. A member for more than 30 years, who some will remember gave an incredible talk back in 2012, delivered shortly after his epic journey to the summit of Everest. As an accomplished EMMY award-winning cinematographer, with more than 80 assignments across all seven continents to his name, this time, Keith returned with another spectacular evening of stories from his Life Behind the Lens. The storytelling was as gripping as ever, giving a sense of adventure that kept the room captivated throughout. It was a brilliant night, and a real highlight of the weekend. Thank you again, Keith!

Sunday was spent reminiscing about the weekend, chatting to Keith in more depth about his epic adventures, playing Crokinole, and eating a lot of cheese! Another great weekend in my books!
