Our first meet of 2022 saw a small group stay at the Ochils Hut in Crianlarich. We certainly kicked the new year off with a wet one!
Colin travelled up on the Friday via the Glen Lyon Horseshoe for a wee run where he was treated to inversions and a dusting of snow at the summits.
This pleasantry wasn’t to last though and everyone got a good January soaking on Saturday. Alex, Ken and Cat climbed Beinn Fionnlaidh. A bit of a stretch from the hut but some people had Munros to climb cough cough!
Since running four Munros the day before wasn’t enough, Colin ran up the local Corbett Meall an Fhudair. I think he planned a small day to make sure he was back to organise the main event – the Burns Supper! Adam, Colin and Joady were on kitchen duties and Colin managed to sink and entire block of butter into the mash which I think may have been the highlight of a few peoples’ weekend!
Adam and Stephen joined for the evening and in the theme of Scotland for the Burns Supper meet Adam suggested the musical theme for the evening was Scottish artists and songs.
The next day wasn’t much drier but Adam and Ken cycled part of the West Highland Way to round off the weekend.
